We can’t plug all the leaky holes fast enough and we are literally falling apart.

High stress can wreak havoc on hormones, mood, weight, organ function, cells, diet, desire to exercise, ability to cope and quality of life.
The body is a remarkable thing…
Stress can cause the body to go into survival mode as it is wired to protect us and keep us alive. SURVIVAL is always it’s top priority.
It doesn’t care if the surface goal is to lose 30 pounds, or even 100 pounds, If it feels that survival is threatened or at risk,
it will override the goals and start holding on to food and nutrients and turn them into fat as a protection in case you face starvation.
It will also slow down metabolism and other organ functions in an effort to conserve energy.
It will do this regardless of whether the stress is physical or emotional.
It’s called LIFE!
There is a very specific way to talk to your body, and a specific set of actions to take that work with your body and not against it.

At a followup physical 3 months after a diverticulitis attack, my husband was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. We were told his condition was very serious and we needed to make changes fast while we could. The Dr. referred us to a nutritionist to review his diet and make a course change. After meeting with the nutritionist I wanted a second opinion about the plan for my own reassurance, so I called Annette on the phone.
